The project, undertaken as part of a wider modernisation project, including sewerage system replacement and water treatment improvement, will decrease freshwater withdrawal and consumption. Through increased water reuse and recycling, it is expected that the changes will decrease water withdrawal by c. 20%.

Ultimately, the environmental responsibility of rotary kilns is about balancing industrial necessity with ecological imperative. While these kilns are indispensable for producing essential materials and managing waste, their operators bear a significant duty to ensure their activities contribute to, rather than detract from, a healthier planet and a sustainable future.
